Welcome
I am a state licensed therapist working in private practice offering psychotherapy for adults. My main approaches are cognitive behavioral therapy and its variants such as schema therapy, or acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT).
If you are interested in starting a therapy with me, please contact me via email. I will get back to you, if I have availabilities. I do not have a waitlist.
Service
I offer cognitive behavioral therapy for adults in an individual setting. My work focuses on psychological stress, which can be caused e.g. by stress or life crises, depression, anxiety or psychosis, psychosomatic or physical illnesses. My services are explicitly aimed at LGBTQ* people and I am happy to accompany transitions.
Processes and methods
I work with methods of cognitive behavioral treatment, schema therapy, ACT and mindfulness-based approaches such as relaxation and imagination exercises. In therapy, it is important for me to create a protected, appreciative atmosphere and a supportive therapeutic relationship for my clients. The focus is on reducing stress, understanding possible causes and changing structures and beliefs in order to achieve a new satisfaction with life, a greater ability to act, experience and feel as well as an expansion of self-worth.
Methods
Cognitive behavioral therapy - working out connections between thinking, feeling and acting, changing distorted thought patterns and unfavorable behaviors through practical exercises, action- and solution-oriented in the here and now.
Schema therapy - exploring the origins of unfavorable thought and behavior patterns, developing, expanding and supplementing beliefs and coping strategies.
Relaxation and imagination exercises, hypnotherapy - practicing relaxation and building up understanding and possibilities for change at a deeper level of consciousness.
ACT: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy - the focus is on acceptance and mindfulness of the existing situation in order to create space for change. Values work gives the change a direction that corresponds to your own life goals.

Initial consultation and trial
The initial consultation serves to get to know each other, to discuss organizational issues and to clarify the initial assignment and goals. Subsequently, in the probationary sessions (usually four to five), we will work together to identify your complaints, problems, their possible origins and your personal life situation in order to make a diagnosis and develop a possible treatment plan and to check whether a trusting collaboration is possible.
Therapy
The duration of therapy can vary between short counseling sessions with a few appointments and long-term therapeutic support. The sessions usually take place weekly on mutually agreed dates. We evaluate the therapeutic process at regular intervals and decide whether to continue or end it.
Costs
I offer therapy for self-paying patients, privately insured persons, persons entitled to benefits and in the cost reimbursement procedure. I am guided by the fee schedule for psychotherapists (GOP). If you are privately insured or entitled to benefits, please contact your insurance provider to find out how the costs can be covered. I will be happy to advise you on the reimbursement procedure and assist you with the application process.
Attitude/Mindset
For me, therapy is a path that you walk together with me. You are the expert for your own life and bring the content with you. I am an expert in the treatment and the methods and guide the process. Transparency is very important to me - you can ask questions, suggest a break or a detour at any time.
Professional experience
I have been working independently as a psychotherapist since 2015, and was still in training under supervision until my license to practice in April 2020. Since 2020, I have been working in my own practice in rooms that I share with Bettina Herding and Anna Ludwig.
Working as a psychotherapist in the Soteria of the psychiatric ward of St. Hedwig Hospital and as a caregiver in a therapeutic residential community for mentally ill adults at a psychosocial institution, I learned to accompany people in special crises, to work with people with psychosis and with voice-hearing people. Over the years, I built up a large professional network with various players in psychosocial and psychiatric care here and through further training at the Psychosis Psychotherapy Network and the Voice Hearing Network. Another network with a focus on therapy and counseling for LGBTQ* was created through my involvement in VLSP* e.V., where I am involved in intervision and further training.
Training
I decided to train as a psychological psychotherapist at the dgvt training center in Berlin - here I was able to learn modern cognitive behavioral therapy with its additions of schematherapeutic, emotion-focused and mindfulness-based methods at the highest level according to current scientific standards. I completed my Bachelor's degree at the Freie Universität Berlin with an Erasmus semester at the Université de Genève, and my Master of Science with a focus on clinical psychology and neuropsychology at the University of Bielefeld.
